A fictional look into the complexities of the Iraq War
Warrenton, VA (PRWEB) January 10, 2013
?I wrote this book to shed light on the war in Iraq, beyond the headlines and politico facts,? author and Iraq War veteran R.A. Wilson says about his book, ?The Land between Two Rivers? (published by AuthorHouse). While a work of fiction, it reflects how regular people are affected by the war and gives war itself a human face.?The Land between Two Rivers? tells the stories of four strangers fighting in the Iraq War whose lives intertwine and fates are forever changed as they collide in a string of events in the northern Iraq city of Mosul.
?As the war in Iraq winds down, many Americans find it hard to put together what the last nine years of American soldiers in Iraq exactly meant,? Wilson states. ?They put together the so-called facts provided by politicians and newspapers, but they do not understand how complex the war really became after American troops set foot in a hotbed of civil unrest.
Wilson believes that by choosing characters that were Iraqi, readers will better understand that like all humans, Iraqis too fall on the many sides of war, that by choosing an American soldier, they will better connect with the war, and that by putting a human face on the war, readers will have a clearer understanding of the complexities of the war.
